Begin at the centre.
It starts with a lump of clay.
01 — Open
Open it out.
Thumbs to the centre — the form breathes wide.
02 — Pull
Pull it up.
Wet hands, steady pressure, and the wall climbs.
03 — Form
Bring it in.
Collar the neck, flare the lip. A vessel.
04 — Paint
Paint it on.
A motif around the belly — by hand, before the glaze.
05 — Finish
Glaze. Fire.
Celadon over the brushwork, then into the kiln.
Come as you are. Leave with clay in your hair.
Strangers on day one, regulars by week three — clay to the elbow at the next wheel over, someone's cylinder collapsing an hour before it was finished, your mug sharing a kiln shelf with a stranger's bowl. A real skill, learnt in good company.
And here, we're all kind — to the clay, to each other, and to ourselves.
Made here, mostly by beginners.

Start with ten sessions.
-
Wheel Throwing — Foundations
Ten sessions at the wheel — centring, pulling, opening, trimming. Centring takes most people three sessions. Then it clicks.
-
Handbuilding — Foundations
Pinch, coil and slab — six to eight pieces made with nothing but your hands, and no wheel at all.
-
One-off taster workshops
An evening or a weekend in clay. Come once, decide afterwards whether you want ten more.
